Ross Langston17 February 2019Really impressed! Our Architech inspector (Duane) spent over two hours going over our new home with a fine-tooth comb. He discovered plumbing problems and wiring issues that we had no idea existed! Rather than just "turning things on" to see if they work, Duane used several tools (thermal cameras, pressure gauges, humidity meters) to objectively evaluate appliances, plumbing, and drywall. His work culminated in a 15 minute summary presentation outlining required, recommended, and suggested improvements. He also produced a 40+ page report which contained a point-by-point evaluation of floors, electrical, appliances, plumbing, decks, and drainage. With this info in hand, we are better able to work with the sellers to ensure that major deficiencies are replaced or repaired prior to purchasing the property.

I cannot say enough how great he was in doing our inspection. I met with him and his assistant at the house and knew immediately I had made a great choice! He was respectful, knowledgeable and patient with our questions. It was the most thorough home inspection I have ever seen. Description of not only what was wrong but went out of his way to show what was good. I received a 76 page inspection on a hard drive at that very moment and immediately in my email as soon as it was paid for. I wouldn't normally write a review as this but I felt that in such a stressful time, they were a shining star in the process. Plus, it only took ONE day to get them to the house!

Duane and Bryan complete thorough inspections, provide a great report format for clients, and always accommodate scheduling requests. It can be easy to be a one hit wonder and get one 5-star rating to make a good impression, but then start to slip after that. The inspector was very knowledgeable and since we were 5,000 miles away in NC he made 4 videos where he explained everything in terms a layman could understand. He also wrote the most comprehensive report I have ever seen (I have made real estate transactions in three countries and this will be my fourth in HI) and this is the best I have ever seen. He made it very clear what was a real problem and needed immediate attention. Things that had been done by an amateur and should be corrected and finally things that were cosmetic. Perfect. Bryan Naff replied within minutes that he felt he couldn't recommend an inspection since he didn't want to charge me for a report if he wasn't able to give me anything of value. As generalists, inspectors can't magically find things we wouldn't have noticed by living in the home. Instead, Bryan recommended that we operate and test things in our home, such as sink basins, appliances, a/c, garage doors, etc. Its rare nowadays to find someone who places such importance in providing value to the customer first.
